Default Installed Electric Meziere WP - 96 LT1

Hello All,
Thanks to Nathan and everyone who answered my questions on this project.

(anyone want to discuss whether mechanical or electrical pumps are more efficient?) :D :boxing :smash:

Install was delayed but went pretty smooth. Some highlights:
-did not need to rotate MAF - YES!
-Pump clears everything (this is the HD model)
-pump relay run from fan switch relay

Observed coolant temps form my first trip:
-190 on freeway with no ac
-210 with ac on
-fan switches on at about 210
-idling in driveway is about 220 -230

Are these temps normal? I think they are roughly the same as the stock pump but I did not document any historical numbers.
I am running everything else stock including 50/50 dexcool and distilled water.

Is water wetter still suggested?

I will be watching MPG in the next few days,. Hoping for HP and MPG improvement. The car feels faster but could be because I have been driving the GF's Prelude

Thanks again,
Dave

Temps sound right if you are running a stock thermostat/no fan switch (fan switch only matters off free-way though)! Thanks for the info on the clearance, it's good to know the HD model clears without problem. Do you think you would have room for a Griffin/BeCool radiator (another 2" or so)?

Thanks again!

The tip of the pump is about 1/4" from the AC line and condensor (is that the condensor?). If you relocate the condensor you will have NP.

More info:

I had the impeller shaft pressed out. Took the pump to performance and speed shops until someone recognized what I was trying to do. Cost $20 with a cleaning. Make sure that you pull the collar off of the block or especially the pump. You should see a shaft with teeth protruding from the back of the pump - not the 1.5" - 2 " collar.

The shaft comes out the back of the pump (engine side) and the freeze plug
(provided by Meziere) goes in the front.

Relay wiring - On the drivers side, radiator shroud, three relays, look at
the front relay. Should have a very small (est 18 ga) pink wire. Pull that
relay off the mount and then pull the cap off. Put your DVM on the connector
that corresponds to the pink wire and have someone turn ignition on/off.
That should be a good 'hot with ignition' source. I then used the splice in
connector that has the spade terminal connector on the back. Not crazy about
this connection but time was the key factor here. Very easy relay hookup.
Clip that on your source and check for good connection.

Power - I have a fuse block in front of the battery, little red cap on the
side. Pull that cap and you should see the live feed to the fuse block.
Since the pump has an inline fuse I took the quick way and made my
connection on the input to the block. Unhook your battery before you do this
part.
