Default Help?? Replacing there fuel pump and push rod on a 73'454

I went to replace the fuel pump and push rod today on my 73'454. Getting the pump out was not too bad. had to take off the right front tire, jack it up and use a 1' 1/2 worth of extentions to get the 2 bolts off. this took some small hands and quite some time. The problem is getting at the push rod and replacing. I don't see it happening without completely pulling the motor. There is absolutely no clearance to get to it. Any suggestions as to replacement of the pushrod and reinstalling the pump. Thanks. I just change this over to the c3 forum. didn't realize I had this in the c4

Might want to post this in the C3 section, but try clicking the motor over a touch, it should spit it right out as its driven by the cam. If it doesnt come out all the way use a telescoping magnet.
Oh, and by all means disconnect your coil wire first!!!

As far as reinstalling it, use a bit of grease around the pushrod, then put it in, this should make it stay put til you can bolt the pump back in.
