Default question for Street Twin users

I know some of you guys run a street twin clutch. Tell me what you can about them, this is supposed to be the ultimate clutch, but it's very costly and I've heard that the replacement flywheel makes the tranny rattle. I'm in the market for a new clutch, a normal Mcleod Dual Friction would more than serve my needs, but with a Street Twin I'd never have to replace the clutch again

Tell me what you know.

I'll tell you when it gets here. Ordered one through Summit. I was told it comes with a flywheel, so I didn't think the price was that bad.

Did you order it with the aluminum or steel flywheel?

Cool, let me know how it works out for you. Sometime before late October I want a new clutch. I really want the street twin, but I don't want the noise of a lightweight flywheel :U . If it doesn't make any noise for you then I'll probably get it, and I won't ever have to worry about my clutch again.

Street Twin is still a clutch and will wear out! Don't count it as a lifetime clutch. The reason the trans rattles is not because of the weight of the flywheel. It is the dampening of the dual mass than helps suppress the noise. It will rattle. Give me a call tonight(281-804-7511) and I will let you listen to a 1993 and a 1994 Vette, both with the street twin and steel flywheel. Both rattle. Yours will rattle. Every once in a while, I can let the clutch out and it does not make much noise, but don't count on it.

Bottom line, if you do not want noise, do not go with the street twin.
