I don't know. I looked at those last month when I was looking for a Targa top to give me more headroom because I'm tall. There were threads warning of poor quality so I bought a used GM on Ebay. I got a good deal so I'm happy. Maybe do a search for related info.

The mfr. name, "astro" seems to stir controversy. However, after looking at the CC ad, I'm not sure if it is in fact THE astro, or just a generic use of the word.
Does anyone know if this is the astro tops of some limited fame?

It's much more I believe. The plastic is about 15 - 16 lbs and the glass is about 30 or so. Put it at the very top of the car (low cg being better) and that's why racers use the plastic. Don't forget there's a liner & padding in the glass one.

Only have experience with the C-3 Astro Roof, and it tokk a lot of modifing before I was even kinda happy with the fit (Still don't like the side window seals), and I never take it off, where as I did take the T-tops out fairly often (but not so often once we got the A/C blowing cold). That being said, I could still see it being a good optoin for a race only car, but not so good for a street / strip car unless you keep your stock top to use when not at the track! Also, I kinda wonder if their mounting system is going to be strong enough to keep the top on all the way down the track! I know the C-3 one is real questionable on that subject (Yeah, I'm on my second one, and it happened before I'd even decided they kinda sucked, so I didn't know better than to buy the second one ). Gotta admit though, I really liked it when I first got it, it took a while for me to really start to dislike it.

I just purchased a Glass Astro Top for my 93 and I also have the fiberglass top as well. I am planning to use the Glass top in the spring and the car is a garage queen so I think I should get a lot of use from the glass top before I my have any problem if any with it. The other reason for selecting Astro over Melrose Top was the price difference and my usage of the Top. So if I would be using the car daily I would have went for the extra cost hoping that in the long run it was worth the extra cost.
