1996 Conversion manual to electric seats?
I am purchasing a 1996 Vette w/o power seats and would like to know if it is much of a proble to upgrade to power seats. I can find the seat rails and switch harnesses but do the vehicle come pre-wired to plug the switches and rails into or are additional wiring harnesses necessary. Does any wiring have to be done to the dash? Any clues appreciated.
Thanks
Mark

I did this with my '89. There was a power wire that was already in the console. Plug in the switches and run the switch wires under the carpet to the motors.

Is this something you just want to do? Not criticizing, but just wondering out loud. Reason I ask is I have the manual seats, and I can tell you, it's no big deal. And I've had the power seats before so I know what they feel like. Unless you like going up and down or some such. Otherwise, for the money, there's a whole buncha of other things that the money can be allocated to.

I replaced the passenger manual with electric. There is a plug under the console for this option. The track fit right in, and the wires are run under the carpet. You will need a tray for the switches that fits onto the console. They are nice to adjust 6 ways to get just right. Worth it.
I later installed Sport Seats with air bladders and all. Not too bad either.
