Default OEM Z06 wheels on rear of 91 C4

I'm posting this on behalf of a friend who is looking at buying a set of OEM 2001 Z06 wheels for his 1991 C4.

Can the rears be fitted without issues?

I understand the OEM front 17x9.5" Z06 wheels will fit a 1991 (or other 1988-1996) C4 correctly without adaptors.

What about the OEM rear 18x10.5 Z06 wheels? Will they fit without adaptors, stick outside of the guard or rub on the inside of the wheel. I am unsure of the offset on these wheels.

There are a few guys around that have them and they look good. Do a search and you should find quite a few. I don't believe on a 91 you'll have any problems. They should fit like a glove without any adapters.

I think they fit perfect.

will they bolt up the same on an 85, or will it require adapters?

The 91 will hold the 18x10.5 just fine. Do not put on the 285 size tire though, it looks way too narrow for the wheel, go wider. I'm running a set of c6 z06 in 17x9.5 and 18x10.5 on my 92. c6's are the same dimension as the c5 wheels.

Yep, 3/4" or the cheaper and easier to find 1".

Pretty much everything, except the ZR1s rear 17x11" wheel, is 56mm from when they went 17s

They will fit just fine. Use a 295/35/18 tire. Plenty of choices in that size. It does not stick out at all and fills the wheel well nicely. Here's what the back looks like:

I'm in the market for a set of chrome Z06s, too and was wondering what "a very good price" is, if you don't mind saying.

I've been price comparing to try to get the best deal I can.

Thanks,

Jake

I don't mind at all Jake. (for what it's worth I'm pretty sure you helped me out a while back when I was changing my pushrods out - in which case I really don't mind)

The wheels my friend is buying are OEM (painted finish?) Z06 wheels he is buying off ebay from a private seller - so I'm not too sure this will help you make valid comparisons. The seller is taking a beating on them as he hasn't been able to find a buyer (Corvette wheels aren't a big demand item in Australia). I think the seller has said he will take $1K AUD.

Good luck with your search.

Andrew

Thanks for that info.

I used a currency converter and 1K AUD came out to $764 USD.

I found a set of chrome Z06 wheels for $579, so I feel more comfortable with that price now.

Jake
