Default cold start injector

Could one of the many knowledgable people on this site tell me where the cold start injector is located so I can take it out and clean it.

I spent the morning tearing the dash apart to get at the cold start fuse!
The fuse is good (visually) I couldn't ohm it out as I don't have meter. i did polish the tabs before I plugged it in again.

Next step is to take it to a wrencher with a fuel gauge and get the cranking pressure drop checked if the clean job doesn't fix things.

Thank you

Don't go about this the wrong way. You have to learn how this system works to figure it out. You will mainly need a volt/ohm meter and a test light to figure this thing out. You know the CSV fuse is good and it should only take about 5 min to remove and replace everything dealing with the drivers info center. The most common symptom of a faulty CSV system is longer cranking time during a cold start up. (engine temp <95*F)

This system starts at the starter solenoid. The CSV system is only active during cranking and when the temp is below 95*F goverened by the CSV bimetal thermal switch. When below 95* and the engine is turned over the starter solenoid sends 12v to the CSV fuse. From there the wiring goes through the firewall with the TPI wiring harness. The wires connect to the thermal switch. If the engine temp is below 95* the switch will send 12v to the CSV itself. As the engine warms up (limit of 8 seconds) the switch cuts off power to the CSV. The CSV itself ohms at around 4-6 ohms and is different from the other 8 injectors (16-17 ohms).

For lots more info. Use the search function and type in CSV. This will give you lots of detailed information about this system. It has been covered extensively over the last month or so, by myself and Da Mail Man.

....ya mean, i am not the only one?...grin....here is an update and excuse the caps as it is a cut and paste to somebody whom sent me an e-mail last night..

....MY SYMPTOMS NOT REALLY ANY BETTER. THE ONLY IMPROVEMENT I HAVE SEEN IS WHEN IT GETS VERY COLD DOWN HERE (FLORIDA) BELOW 65 DEGREES, IT APPEARS TO START VERY WELL WHEN COLD..........

....I HAVE RETARDED THE TIMING FROM 7-1/2 DEGREES TO ABOUT
4-1/2 AND WHILE MY GAS MILEAGE SEEMS TO HAVE GONE UP ACCORDING TO THE DASH INDICATORS, REALLY NOTHING HAS CHANGED AFTER BOTH THE CSV AND THERMO SWITCH CHANGE OUT.......FILTERS CHANGED, GREAT FUEL PRESSURE, PLUGS, CAP, WIRES, IGNITION MODULE AND ELECTRONIC SPARK CONTROL MODULE,.....SEA FOAMED, CLEANED OUT TB AND IAC AND RESET,TPS GOOD AND SET,..........RUNNING OUT OF OPTIONS...........(sorry 'bout the hijack!)...

CSV is located drivers side, just in front of the third injector, counting from front to rear.
