Well, I took the car to the shop today, to figure out why my 89 convertible wanders at moderate to high speed. Everything looked good with one notable exception... The front spring has a half inch gash in the front of the driver side, and a fiber splinter runs most of the way across. :mad

It sounds like there is no choice but to replace it. Can anyone suggest a reasonable source for a performance spring?? Any experience with used ones (these are spendy :nopity )??

Try Conteporary Corvette. They always advertise in Corvette Fever. I bought a set of springs from them a number of years ago for $300.

I just re-read your post, I would strongly recommend against getting anything stiffer than stock for a convertible. Your spring is a 93.1 N/mm unit.

Can you expand on why the heavy duty (some places call it sport) version might not be a good idea?

If I went to the heavier spring, should I change both front and rear??
