How easy it to pull out a dowel pin on a cam that it has been mostly pressed into?
Curious how tough of a job this is?
there is prob .250” of the dowel pin sticking out
ive read about people ‘heating’ the cam and cooling the pin, and having success
but i hate to anneal any heat treatment on the cam

Use your bench vice. Stand the camshaft up on the vice with the pin between the jaws. Before tightening the jaws rock the cam over and place a .125 drill bit under the cam to get the pivot point close to the pin. Now tighten the jaws and rock the camshaft to pull the pin out. Repeat as necessary until the pin is out. I had to change a pin on one of my cams from standard to LT1 pin drive for the Optispark.
