My Fikse's I bought should be here soon, It never occured to me to ask until now. Will my LTPW sensors fit on Fikse FM/5's, the vette is a 96 if that matters.
Thanx,
Allen
"Made to fit"?????
what all is involved, now I guess I need to find a place who can and or is willing to do it. Can you provide me any other info on this.
Thanx,
Allen
I bought mine used off of another forum member for 2 grand including shipping. I'm having a prob finding someone who wants to install them though. All the shops I have talked to so far are concerned with liability due to the replacement cost of the wheels. Is the LTPWS style on the 96 the band style? Does anyone know for sure. If it is the band style why would you have to "make it fit" to the Fikse's?

Re: LTPWS on FM/5's (96VegasVette)
Same here .. got my Fiske FM5's from a fellow boardmember. I paid a-little more than 96VegasVette at 2300. As far as fitting the sensor's. The sensor is mounted on what look's like a huge stainless steel radiator hose clamp. And it is adjustable. My Fiske's will be here soon. I'll check it out and let you know. As far as mounting the Fiske's. Any good wheel shop can do the mounting.
The LTPWS sensors on the wheels of 1996 vettes are light tan colored plastic boxes housing a pressure switch that operates at 25 psi, and a transmitter. The plastic box straps around the center of the wheel with a big hose clamp that has a cutout for the tire valve opposite the sensor. The earlier (1993 and earlier) sensors were black plastic boxes, and used a different frequency to signal the receiver behind the dash board. The adjustment range of the hose clamp is a couple of inches, and I don't know if they'll fit Fikse wheels. You can find used ones at wreckers, or new ones at http://www.gmpartsdirect.com. The left front ones are hard to find. Email me if you need some other sources.
