Default Re-casing a CS130 Alternator.

I ordered a couple chrome cases and pulleys for rebuilding a couple CS130s I have. The alts are brand new as well, and I made sure the cases match the alts. Same clocking.

I have spoken with the guy sending me these cases. He does this, and gave me some instructions. I did a test run on an older CS130 I have that had worn magnets...I think that's what they are.

Anyway, I do have a brief write up of what to do but I'm still a bit confused as to the reassembly. Will I have to solder the three wires back together or can I remove the guts without cutting those three wires?

I had a very difficult time getting the from bearing out of the housing as that seems to be the first step. Here's what he gave me...please add steps as you see fit. Thanks so much guys.

#1 - Remove pulley and fan.
#2 - Remove three housing bolts.
#3 - Remove front housing. (Rotor remains in rear housing.)
#4 - Press the rotor and bearing out of the housing. (Bearing stays on rotor.)
#5 - Remove black cover on outside of case.
#6 - Remove black cover on the inside of the alt. (Clip the 3 insulators that surround the three wires. Punch out three pins on back and pop out the black cover.)
#7 - Remove the 3 screws and the nut holding the regulator, rectifier, and brush rack.
#8 - Remove the regulator, rectifier, and brush rack as one assembly.
#9 - Remove the bearing sleeve from the back housing.
#10 - Apply heat transfer compound on the housing.
#11 - Repeat removal process in reverse.
#12 - Check for free spinning rotor, and adjust if needed.

Now, I know there is something where I have to slide a toothpick through the brush assembly so they won't catch on the rotor. Is that all there is to that?

Should it have been that hard for me to remove the front case from the bearing and rotor?

Where can I buy heat transfer compound locally?

When I clip the three black insulator surrounding the three wires...will that make it possible for me to remove it to get to the three screws? On the one I disassembled the black disc blocked the three screws and I wouldn't get to them without first removing the stator. To remove the stator I had to clip the three wires as well. Could holes be drilled in the black disc so I can get to the screws?

Did the design of the CS130 change at all, making the new ones easier to rebuild?

Thanks in advance, sorry for the long winded tech question.
