Default LTx Oil Pan Compatibility

Anyone know if there is a difference between a Fbody LTx oil pan and the Corvette oil pan besides the location of the drain?

All I know is the crank seal detirmans which pan you need to use.
A 2 piece rear main uses a different pan that a 1 piece main seal.

They are different. Sump on a c4 vette pan is longer and less deep. The c4 uses a different pick up as well.

Is there a part number or stamping on the pan that I can use to verify if what I have is a Camaro pan or a Corvette pan? Or are they enough different that I can see comparing the pan in the car to the one in my hand? I was told the pan I got (for free) was a Corvette pan, but both of my Vettes have a rear drain plug and this one is on the side.

The corvette pans I have worked with usually have a bung in them so you can hook up the oil temp gauge,I don't think the f body does.

They definetly look different, the f-body pan has more of a square shape to it while the Vette's has a smoother rounded out shape. Also I think there is an "X" on the bottom of the f-body pan like an X shape molded in but I cant say for sure on that.

The shapes may vary a little but will the pans fit the blocks of both cars? I would think they might interchange. I have a Kevco race pan that I am going to try on my LT1 in a few weeks and will find out then.

The pans will fit both blocks, it is the compatibility with the chassis that I'm worried about. I found a photo of a stock LT4 corvette pan and compared it to mine and it is obviously not the same pan. So looks like I need a pan now.

I am certain that a vette pan will not fit in an f-body. The bigger sump will hit the crossmember.
I remember eyeballing an f-body pan in my c4 chassis and being confident it would fit. I was not 100% so I bought a stock, used vette pan.
