Default lt4 head gasket

MY shop that has 'cleaned up' and resurfaced my heads said that a set of head gaskets was around $160. I was in a meeting and didnt get to ask many questions at the time so I said fine, but that sounds high.

I did see that Cometic charges $80 for one gasket. I've never had to replace on one my vette, but other cars have been WAY cheaper that this. Does this sound reasonable?

No, unless they are Cometics. You're simply paying the severely marked up "shop" price, or at least double it sounds like in this case. I use Felpro's performance LTx gaskets and they're not even half that much. However it's possible they're replacing the head bolts too, which is recommended for LT1s and likely for LT4s too then, I would think. This is why I bought ARP bolts the first time I ever removed my heads. They do not need replaced every time.
