Anyone considering a Gen III or Gen IV engine swap might want to check with speedhound.com. I just got a set of long tubes and motor mount adapter plates for a project I'm doing with an '87.

Jeff, the car looks great, the motor looks great, and the work looks great! Can't wait to see it in person later this month!

You'll see it Thursday when you pick up your car.

I need to post some updated pics of a few tricks.

They make headers for RX7s with LS1 swaps that I think would fit in a C4 with little/no modifications if you don't want to fab your own. I have no experience with this and have no idea if it actually works, I just know they make them. This might've been discussed in one of the other LS1 swap threads though.

I would rather fab. Gives me something to do. Sometimes buying things already done creates a bigger headache, as I saw in the trans adapter.

True enough. Just a thought.

One of the other things I changed was the clutch master. I wanted something a bit more reliable than the factory piece, plus I have no timeline on if the one in the car had ever been replaced. The factory mounting bolts are at a cocked 15 degrees, and the new Wilwood is straight up and down.

So here is my nifty mounting bracket. Once again custom made.

Finally getting back on it and it's crunch time.

Used a NAPA hose #8919 for the lower rad hose. It needed to be trimmed just a little, but fit great after that. Still working on the upper. I have a hose that can be spliced, but I hate to splice a hose a create another possible spot for a leak.

If i finish the coolant system tonight, the exhaust goes on tomorrow. And then I'm done.

Alright................ Fired her up today, took a quick little drive down the road to the exhaust shop to have some work done. Got several odd looks and a couple of thumbs up with open pipes, full cage and the overall look.

Exhaust is 3" stainless, no mufflers or resonator. Just straight pipe. Been ironing out a few small details and took it for a spin in the parking lot. It is very tail happy with no weight in the car. I need to hit a scale to check out the weight. Pictures and video will come tomorrow in the daylight.
