Used F-bpdy pan and Vette Accesories. Not sure about the truck pan as it never entered my mind. If you go to much further forward you run into the cross brace. You won't have any room to chnage a belt. I can still get in and change the crank pulley. The way I did it does not involve any new holes in the C-beam.

Nicely done!

I like the valvecovers and coil setup.

Much better than the factory covers.

Moved forward so I wouldn't have to worry about transmission placement.

Fuel system was tied into the exitsing fuel lines coming downn the passenger side of the frame. It uses a custom fuel filter housing and then is run up with stainless braided lines and utilizes a fast fuel rail system then goes into a aeromotive regulator then to the return line.

Jeff,

Did you make your own adapter plates for the motor mounts or did you purchase a set?? If you did purchase them, which company did you buy them from. Nice job on the convert.

The ones we designed for Corvette Fever's project C4orce will be ready for sale on Monday. I took them to the coaters just yesterday to get them epoxy coated. We designed them to work with the L98 cars without making any modifications to the frame. Technically they should also work for LT cars, but I have not tried so I can not say for certain they do. www.speedhound.com is my website. I don't have the page up with the motor plates yet. I should have the whole site redone with in the next week or two I hope. Feel free to contact me if you need any more info.

When positioning the motor in these cars you'll need to not only take into account getting the motor into the car but also how the transmission will sit since there is no transmission x member to move around. If you're running a manual transmission, you'll need the stick to come through in about the same location as stock if you intend to also use the factory center console.

The other thing to know is that Melrose makes headers for a C4 running an LSx motor. They were designed based on using the motor plates we designed for C4orce. So exhaust is also a consideration even if you're planning to use factory manifolds. The headers are available from any Melrose dealer such as Jeff or myself.

Everything will fit no problem. You just have to know there are a couple of close places that you'll need to watch out for so you can plan accordingly.

Oh yeah, if you do a search in this forum for LS1 you'll find another very recent thread about doing this swap. You can see C4orce in that thread. The Melrose headers are on the engine in the pictures too.

Custom set to push the motor a little further forward. Didn't have to cut new holes for the C-Beam.

Default putting ls headers in a c4

Hi jeff,

Thought i'd ask a highly respected veteran this question. I would greatly appreciate your oppinion.

Can you or should you put the ls motor in a 1985 vette before or after the Melrose headers GO IN. The issue here is, I don't have the funds readily available for the headers but if i put the motor in now I can get other things completed. Please advise. Im chompin at the bit here!! ha ha
