I have a 1988 a4 coupe that I recently installed cross drilled rotors, new pads and ss braided lines. Everything works well except now the calipers on the front rattle like crazy unless I'm applying the brakes. I also hear the calipers engage when applying the brakes. I've seen in some cases o-rings on caliper retention bolts to eliminate noise, do vettes have something similar? I didn't notice anything like that but maybe with age they became dry and came off. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Didn't know those existed, didn't see any come off. Who knows if they were there? Were they a factory item or aftermarket, where do they go and are they available from auto parts stores?

NAPA would have them, they are cheap. As far as I know they were stock. I can't remember witch side they clip on, maybe someone has a picture. Have you thought of getting a cheap Chilton's manual? It's not as good as the FSM but it does help out. I have both.
