Default Fuel Injectors

On 96 LT-1, when you pull off wires to all fuel injectors and ohm them with key OFF, I got 12.5 ohms to 12.6 ohms. Then I turned my switch to the ON position and checked voltage and got 12.6 volts. My question is could this reading on the coils ( Resistance ) be too low or should this be ok. I beleive Iread where res should be about 17 ohms. All injectors read the same. Should there be 12.6 volts at each inj with key in on position or is this circuit gronding out. Or will the negative side of the inj circuit break/pulse when engine turns ?

Interesting, I just checked my 92 last nite. I got the same readings, 12.5 to 12.6 across the board. I'm chasing a problem with the engine cutting out above 4K.

The resistance on my (89) injectors is 16 ohms...I'm pretty sure yours should be the same. I think the tolerance is + or - 3 ohms, so any injectors reading under 13 ohms is suspect for intermittant operation. For those of you that don't know..all you're looking at here is a fancy solenoid valve...if the windings are going south, its possible they work properly sometimes (as was the case with 3 of mine) on one day my car ran great...on the next day it would not run, or ran so rough I could hardly move. I put 8 Accels in (I've heard bad stuff about Accels here, but the price was right) and since then the car is running (and idles) great.

I have a 96 corvette and am a student at UTI orlando for auto tech and have access to snapon's shopkey and checked the specs they had for the injectors and for a 96 it claimed 11.8-12.6 ohms as normal specs. I will look in the FSM later and see if I can find anything about it but just thought I would throw that out there.

Alright so I got bored and looked in the FSM and found this chart so I decided to post it up to show exactly what the FSM calls for on resistance for a 96 LT1

So res maybe ok at 12.6 ohms but what about 12.6 volts. I got 12.6 volts atevery connector with key in the on position. Im beggining to think my ignition module circuit is grounded out. I unplugged the ign module and found the blk/wht wire showed grounded with key onand with key off. If the key is on I thought the ground wire should not be grounded and this is why my ign coil will not fire ?
