Cardone = cheap junk

When I was working the regular repair business, using a Cardone part on a customer's ride was almost always a guaranteed comeback.

Avoid it like the plague

I used a Cardone steering rack in my car when I was doing a rebuild. I have no problems or complaints with them. They offer a lifetime warranty, so you can always get a replacement if you have problems. Nice if you plan on keeping your car til the wheels fall off.

As always, I recommend the Meziere.

Its definitely cheaper than the new water pump. Also, I would have to get a newer/updated Camber brace to work with a EWP.

I've installed quite a few Cardone parts on various cars over the years with no problems.

However, the AC-Delco WP can be had for about $150, so I certainly wouldn't pay more for the Cardone.

The ASC brand WP is about $130. I put one of those on 3 years ago. Appeared identical to the factory WP, and have had no problems with it.

Well with my luck, I need the most reliable unit. I found a company on Ebay that sells them, fairly cheap, but with shipping they come out to the same price as GMPARTSDIRECT.Shipping is the death of me, as allot of them dont and wont ship USPS or UPS ground, which we do have hear. I may have my wife bring one back on the plane, if I can?
"Honey" You need what for that car!!!!

The Cardone re-man Optisparks at AutoZone are ghetto garbage, too.

I have a friend with a '93 Vette that bought one there for $239 and it fired for a total of two weeks.

He balked at thier lifetime limited warranty, too.

Cardone = Car Done.

We're talking about new WP not rebuilt. Buying a rebuilt WP or Opti of any brand is just dumb.

I hadn't noticed your location. I guess that's the price of living in paradise...

You might try ac-direct. They seem to have good customer service so they might be able to ship the way you want.

But, being where you are, I'd probably just get the ASC or Cardone from a local store to not have to deal with shipping.

I may do the Cardone as the AC Delco isnt cheap here either. There are two Cardones, I will by the super one
The lower hose on mine came out at the track a while back, and the JB weld holding it in, after I took it out and jammed it back in seems to be holding, but I thought while I am bored with the wife gone for a month, I can replace it.

I'd first consider how much a maquiladora worker in Matamoros, Mexico gets paid, then I'd consider the price difference between a quality part and a crappy one, then I'd divide that by the number of hours it'd take me to redo the work if/when the crap one fails.

I've seen some of the impellers on these cheap replacement pumps compared to the OEM pumps, and the difference is night and day. Even if it doesn't fail, the car WILL run hotter.

How much is shipping for you from Rockauto.com?

Steve, I checked Rockauto.com, that AC-Delco part will be at your front doorstep for $179, new Cardone is $15 less.

Rockauto by far has the best shipping prices I've seen. I think it must be at cost, or very close to it. Most places grossly overcharge.
