That can't be a corvette, corvette owners don't let their cars suffer like that.
a plugged pcv valve, or a plugged air filter breather can cause that in high humidity areas. but, it
looks like the intake gaskets leaked at the water jacket, or the head gaskets were leaking, or a leaking/cracked intake manifold.
or a cracked block.
pull the heads, and check for a crack in the middle two water jackets adjacent to the center bolt holes.
otherwise, tear it all part and start from square one. crack check the block, crack check the heads, intake, and then just finish putting it back together.

Yes. That's what the inside of my uncle's cylinder head looked like. It was cracked. The radiator too.

I reckon youre right, its not in a Corvette. However, it is an LTi (probably a 94-95 F-body by the looks of it) and no coolant goes through the intake manifold on those

Its a scary sight in there Jeffvette!!! Good luck sorting it out mate

that is definitely water. I have never seen it that bad before. I appears that it could be anything from a bad PVC valve (unlikely) to a cracked block. Start by removing the heads. Check the head gaskets closely. If they appear to be in good order continue with an inspection of the heads for cracks. If they look good, remove and check the waterpump and surrounding areas. Then check the block.

Another possibility is that the car was submerged in water or someone inadvertantly put water into the crankcase. Hope this helps.

It is interesting that the the walls of the #1 intake runner are so clean. Almost like it was steam cleaned.

That engine looks like it has been under water. Looks like mud on the passenger valve cover and the push rods are rusted on the drivers side.

(Ask me how I know)

This is mine.

By the looks of that there won't be any or they will look like a big rusty boat anchor, which that motor has become.

Yeah that's about right, now add some vegetables and meat. You'll have a real good gumbo.

Seriously looks about like a roux from cooking gumbo, scary.

Car is a 95 Z28. I picked it up for 900 bucks, blown headgasket. Car started up and ran with no rod knock, no external leakage. Had a rats nest in between the head and intake manifold on the driver side.

Heads will be off today and gaskets will be replaced and buttoned back up.

A little seafoam will clear that up no problem.

Here's how my stock LT1 engine, with 96,000 miles looked when I pulled the engine a few weeks ago. It should tell you how well maintained the engine was.
