I am doing an extensive front end and motor rebuild and have removed the motor and transmission and all bodywork from the firewall forward. I am at the stage of rebuilding the A frames which I can remove with no problem however I have some lowering blocks which require removing the front spring. Can this be done without the motor for ballast to unload the spring ??? I dont want to put it in for this however I dont want to break anything or take an injury. Any help would be appreciated.

I wouldnt think it would matter if the engine was in the car or not.
