Well, guys its taken awhile but the blocks out, few pics below, and first pic of my car I think I've posted. I pulled the whole motor myself, couldn't get anyone to come over when I was working on it lol, the biggest pain in the *** probally was getting the torque converter off, got more cuts on the thumb from that than any other component. I did however break the aluminum cover or w/e thats under the torque converter/bellhousing. Anyone know how much a replacement is for that. Its the cover that has a hole to put the starter into. Anyway taking the motor up to Performance Unlimited to have it checked out, then I can see whether I need to go block hunting, maybe Corvette Kid, still had his if I need one. Also been working on a deal in regards to my tires/rims exchange for a motor. In any case been hard at work, hopefully it'll pay off. If, anyone wants some computer/plumbing work done in exhange for some motor/vette work let me know in the Va Beach, VA area . Hope everyone is doing well hope to be back on the road soon. I think some of the next steps right now is get some purple engine cleaner and a pressure washer for the engine bay. Also anyone have any tips for redoing electrical wiring, while I have pretty good access? Thanks.
What is wrong with the engine and what was done to it? Looks like low compression pistons at least...
Well, all I know is it was lopey at idle, and it seems to be a 383 when measuring from the piston to the top of the deck. The problem was it was leaking alot of coolant into the oil upon start up, even after attempting 3 times with new head gaskets.
