Default Leaking Shock on 84 w/ z51

The previous owner replaced with some no-name units.

What would be a good recommended shock for a Z51.

Ride is not much of a issue, would like to keep the performance handling.

Default shocks

bilsteins, or KYB shocks THe KYB ride a lot rougher, but the bilsteins seem to me to be more refined.

I noticed in the "Corvette Store" that there is a Ac/Delco set of shocks that have a lifetime warrenty. Anyone hear anything about these shocks?

Bilsteins or KYB shocks would be good chioices. The KYB's give you a firmer feel. The A/C Delco are are good shocks as well, but as you indicated that you want better performance, go for the KYB's.

It was my understanding that kyb shocks are softer than bilstein which would have a smoother ride (?)

I disagree. KYB doesn't make any shock that is valved for your Z51. Buy Bilstien "sport" Z51 shocks.

I am going to order the Bilsteins, I have heard several people happy with their performance and life of the shock on other Corvettes. Thanks everyone for helping me confirm my decision. I can't wait to feel the difference.
