Default Tires??

I just got a 92 C4 with 6speed. It's stock with the exception of B&B exhaust and K&N filter. It has Goodyear F1's on the back and GSC's on the front. They are loud and rough riding. I had a 99 C5 a few years ago and changed from the run flats to Michelin Pilot Sports. What a change!! What's a good tire for my C4?

I've had Goodyear GS-D3 and the new Firestone Wide Oval's.
Both are very good tires.

Lots of others out there too, but won't comment on them since I've never used them.

I have Sumitomos. I wouldn't buy them again. They are very quiet on the road though. What tire sizes are you looking for? Do you have stock wheels? I know that if you're after 315/35/17s like I am... well the availability is very limited. Not many makers do taht size...

We have Falken Ziex 512's on our 89 Vette. There an excellent tire, with an even better price tag. Tread wear has been extremely minimal, they are very quite on the road, handle way better than the good years, and smoke nicely when you lite them up!! With about 6 burnouts on them and 15K miles they look as new as the day I got them. I am very pleased... oh and the price is unbeatable. I think I pad about $104 a piece new from Discount Tire Online. I even did a little write up after I put them on.

Good luck with your search,

DG

Thanks for the responses. I plan to keep the stock size and may research the Goodyear GS-D3's a bit more. Also, I have heard of a genaric Michelin made in Asia. It's supposed to be a great tire at about half the price.

Default Goodyear

GS D3's

Without a doubt one if not the best all around tire you can buy.

I have seen countless discussions on this board and when I got tires on my Vette over a year ago I asked the same question.

Got like 40 responses and more than 1/2 said GS D3
Of the other 1/2 most said GS D3 also but gave other possibles as well.

Don't waste any time on the thought process, just find the best price for GS D3's and order them.

Likely Tirerack

Default Tires

Thanks everyone, Goodyears it is. I make my living working on American Motorcycles and just don't want to put Asian tires on my Vette!!

I did teh Michelin Play Station 2's on my 89, and I was amazed how quiet they are compared to teh BFG's!
