I did have to pull 1 motor mount bolt and jack the engine slightly for the cam to clear the cross-member, but it was not a problem at all.[/QUOTE

Changed the cam in my 1990 once while it was in the car. After the cam change we pulled the heads to replace those too. Found a cracked piston, pulled the pan, and found several bad rod and main bearings. Had to pull the motor anyway after all that.

Since the motor was out, turned it into a 383 and never looked back.

did a cam swap, valve springs and seals in the car. not difficult but a series of finite steps most (all?) labor intensive; take your time and don't try to do too much at any one time and you'll be fine.
