Retrofit lifters?
Has any one changed there flat tappet LIFTERS to the retrofit roller lifters? Summit has the Crain Cams (CRN-11532-16) it said in there add you "might have to change the pushrods length" but I hear you will have to change the pushrods, Cam, timing cover, as well as add a cam button and some shim kit.
Any one that has done this please step in.

To convert a flat tappet to roller you need;
a Retro fit roller cam
A retro roller cam looks like a flat tappet one ( with roller profile)
OEM roller cam has a recess on the front cam journal for the factory retainer plate.
Roller lifters which are taller than regular so you need shorter pushrods.
(Regular 7.8"; OEM roller 7.2" long )
Because there is no means to keep lifter square on the cam lobe, retro fit lifters have a link bar between each pair for alignment
A cam button ( In the OE roller setup, a retainer plate holds the cam in the block. As there is no provision for this plate on non roller block you need some means of holding the cam in)
In some cases a reinforcement needs welding in the stock timing cover to prevent the cam button pushing forward.Some use a bolt off the back of the waterpump to achieve same.
Use regular timing gear set.
