Default Extrude honed TPI Versus SUPERRAM Gurus Inside please

I read a article here on the forums about ported runners plenum and base versus superram with accel base and the consensus was that the S/R was superior. However, I was looking at the flow numbers on Vader86's website and it seems that the tpi setup with accel runners and base everything extrude honed actually flows more than the Superram.

Am i reading this correctly?

I am trying to figure which setup to go with. Which setup you would choose the extrude honed tpi plenum, accel runners E/H, accel base E/H or the S/R setup.

Personally i think i should keep the superram and take the other base which is E/H and swap it with the regular superram base.

Thanks in advance for the reply.

The 2 systems each have different intake runner lengths. The extrude hone process will not alter the length at all.

The co$t of extrude honing is kinda difficult to justify.

My question is which will produce better results?

Extrude honed tpi plenum with honed accel runners accel intake manifold versus the Superram.

I got the tpi setup for 50 plenum, 150 accel manifold, 100 accel runners
all are extrude honed

I paid 950 for the superram setup

I am wondering which one i should keep for better results.
Obviously i got a killer deal on the tpi setup

It seems you already have the extrude-honed parts... I think the EH base, with the Super Ram runners and plenum would perform best.

The superram will perform better. The runner length of the superram is shorter so it will make more power at higher RPM. The extruded honed TPI set-up will still peak around 4500 RPM where the superram will peak around 5200 to 5500 RPM.

Alot depends on the cam and heads you are using, and what you want the car to do, dragstrip=high rpm , street monster=rediculous low end torque.

The super ram is a proven winner in my book. My best advice is to get the matched cam and do a little head work at the same time you put the super ram on.....once you get it on and sealed you never want to remove it/install it again! I've seen alot of tpi cars go deep into the 12's with the stock style runners and plenum. Then again I have seen more SR equipted cars go well into the 11's.

hey shawn,
if you like the long runner style intakes, go to www.firstfuelinjection.com
they have very large diameter runners stock size,1.75 " standard, can take them out to 1.9" inner diameter no problem at all!
base port can be taken out to 1207 welded and lower base runner size standrd is 1.85" inner diameter.
the runner length inner radius is about 6.75 " long.
this intake has tremdous acceleration and heaps of petential.
it revs easy to 6,000 rpm no problem.
i know a guy called kevin gray (badss) member he loves them ,he ports them and he said they cain for sure.
put its this way kevin had a stealth ram on his camaro and sold the steath ram and runs first intakes now only ...
have a look any way,
it looks like a tpi on steroids!!!
cheers
regards
shae
