I Checked The Fuse It's Ok. There Is Not A Pke Light On In The Information Center And It Will Not Program On I Tried Everything It Said To Do In The Manuals It Worked Fine Until I Tried To Reprogram The Fob
Just on a chance, remove the DIP and check the PKE lamp just in case it burned out. If it did, you won’t know where you are.
The FOB will not prevent the PKE from going into programming mode.
There are many things to check however the most common problems that would relate to your symptoms are a defective PKE receiver, or the contact in the key switch.
The FSM is really needed if you are going to get into it especially if you work on the car regularly.
Doesn't the PKE light come on when you first turn the key to the ON or ACC position? You wouldn't have to remove the bulb, would you?
Yes, it does if everything is working correctly, but it is not. You have to isolate items when possible to check them. Its easier to check the bulb, than get to the PKE receiver. You can check the bulb with a ohm meter (DVM) but can’t do that with the receiver. If the bulb checks out OK, then the problem is in the PKE receiver. Of course there are other things to check, but the bulb check is a self test performed by the software in the receiver.

If the light comes on when you start the car and stays on, there’s a high possibility the PKE receiver is defective. Same condition as I stated above. This is my opinion from my experience.
The Problem Started When I Tried To Reprogram The Key Fob The Pke Light Was On And I Think It Was Flashing. I Got The Fob In Range And The Light Went Off And Shut The Pke Off. The Batteries Are Good, The Fuse Is Good, I Tried To Reprogram The Fob, Pulled The Fuse And Disconnected The Battery For A While. The Gm Service Manual Said To Ground The 8 Pin On The Diagnostic Port. I Checked The Door Switches, They Seem To Work. I Tried To Turn The System On Per Owners Manual. Nothing. It Worked Fine Until I Tried To Reprogram Fob. Could I Have Reprogramed Too Many Times? If So How Do I Reset It?
You can’t reprogram the PKE receiver to many times. Three FOBs can be programmed to it.
When you turn the key, If the PKE does not flash the receiver might be bad.
If you ground pin 8, does the PKE light flash at all. If it does not, the receiver might be bad.
Disconnecting the car battery might clear the PKE and CCM, but it does not remove from its memory what FOBs are programmed to it. You might try this and get lucky.
But if that PKE light just won't light in any mode that’s an indication the receiver is bad. (check the PKE lamp).
