Kumho Ecsta SPT (KU31)
i bought a new set of Kumho Ecsta SPT (KU31) tires for my 91 about a month ago. i took my 91 out for a drive today and found out that i cant get any traction at all with them. they just spin, any one else with these tires that have this problem?
thanks
p.s. i do find that they leave nice black marks though and alot of smoke, for what ever thats worth.

Not sure where you live and the temps there, but my Michelins (the older XGTZ) were like steel when cold. Only became noticable come Fall, and after a few miles they warmed up. Sure would surprise you on a cool morning heading into work

I run these tires and found the SPT versions to hold up extremely well, they're quiet, the grip like mad in the wet, and their dry grip is very good as well. very progressive tires at the limit.

it was about 10c(50f) out
the roads might have been cooler then that i dont know.
with desktop dyno,(its a 383 and only the block is stock) i know all the flow numbers but for the sr, the desktop dyno says i should make about 490hp/490tq (at the fw)
its a 700r4 with a 2500 stall and 3.07 rear gears. and i made sure all the tires rotate the right way.
the old tires seemed to have better traction.
thanks guys. hopefully next year i can afford stickyer tires

I run these tires on my Daily Driver, and when the temps drop below 50 the traction plummets.
Complete different tire once they are warm. Did you give them 500 miles to break in before harping on them? That can drastically affect long term traction.

I've been running them for little over a year now. When cold they are almost hard as stone. Summer tires are only good is warm temps and higher. Once you get closer to the freezing temps all seasons are better, winter are the best. I run these when we get a chinook, I just have to drive according to the conditions, which means like a granny...
