Can anyone take a guess at my possible HP
OK, I have not gotten the car DYNO'd but I was wondering what my possible RWHP would be if I did (Please see my sig for mods). I have copy'd my setup from some of the older guys out here on the forum. for example: MOJO, 96REDCOUP etc...
PS. Please also give advice on a possible 1/4 mile time.
And maybe some launch advice !! Thanks

With a ram air setup your dyno horsepower results could be misleading. I'm not familiar with high stall converters, etc. But I can tell you about the stock story. A stock 6-spd dyno's around 270, an auto would be slightly lower. I'm sure your Ed Wright program gains that back.
Your stock 1/4 times should be 13.6-14.0 range, so I would say that your stall converter and gears would pick up several tenths. I'm afraid I just can't say for sure, it's just gonna have to be something you can test. If you do get it dyno'd or run it, be sure and let us know what it does.

Panuzzo and I both went high 12.4s with a stock motor and your type of bolt ons. I always felt we had about 260 RWHP.
No reason you can't go that fast.

How did you like the fastchip? Any noticable difference? I'm thinking of getting mine done.
PS. Thanks all for replying to this thread. I have that old sorry DANA 36 so I do not Press her too hard. THOSE BFG's 375, and TC can distroy a weak rearend with a couple of nice launches. I am really scared to hammer her at the track but I may do a couple of passed to see if I can hit the heavenly 12's :D

I was told that the Flowmastes and the Chip should bring about (rear wheel horses) 40 HP

Have you looked at the performance registery online? There is a guy in there (new92racer?) who has mods very close to yours. 3.73 gear, slp exhaust. 2600 conv. etc. and he is showing 12.7 times. If and when you run it please post your results. Good luck.

Those would be advertisement horse power. The advertisment to real world gains would bring your exhaust gains down to 5-10 hp.
The stock LT1 exhaust works quite well with 2 3/4" manderel bent pipes. The biggest exhaust gain is in the mufflers or more important, headers.
One of the Vette mags did a comparision of exhasts a few years back on an stock LT4, the flowmaster system returned a gain of 6 hp I believe. The B&B Tri-Flow got the biggest gains and that was still only a whopping 10hp.
L98's get immediate gains from exhaust upgrades. On an LT1 you are doing it more for noise that real power gains. So don't be to disapointed on the dyno. That vigilante will make a nice impact on your ET's even if it doesn't help hp.

See my bio for RWHP. I have not had a good run at the track. The last time was terrible 13.8 @ 100 MPH. "ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL"
 I should be in the low 13's for sure. :seeya
