Buy or make gasket for ported/oversized runner to plenum???
Does anyone know where to buy the gasket for a larger/ported runner & plenum?
Or - What do you use to widen the stock plenum gaskets you buy?
I recently purchased a used Super Ram with large runners and ported plenum and I am trying to find good gaskets for the runner to plenum. Thanks for your assistance in advance.

I suppose someone like TPIS can sell you oversize gaskets, but there's no guarantee that they will be the right size for your project.
Back during the summer I really opened up my runners and plenum openings. I mean really opened them up. I also removed the divider walls as far in as I could reach with a Mikita grinder too.
When it came to gasket matching time, I simply used the stock gaskets and the grinder to removed gasket material until it matched the runners and plenum.
I bolted the gaskets to the runners usings bolts, flat washers and nuts so they wouldn't move and had at it.
Came out fine.
Hope this helps.

I bought some gasket paper in sheets that you cut out with a scissor I dont recall where I bought this but it available most likely summit but just to let you know they sell this cut your own gasket material. I use it for this application because those suckas are big $ and I tear into them too often to keep buying the gaskets

Thanks for your help, I think I will go with trying to port my current gaskets and pick up the gasket material for backup.

There should have been a set of gaskets in the box that you can use as templates, they might even be re-useable.

TPIS sells Mr. Gasket gaskets, but they are junk! They are very weak and easily torn / folded / etc. The Fel-Pro stock sized gaskets have a metal insert and can be "revised" (ported) to match your requirements (Trak Auto had them in stock). I used a die grinder with a carbide cutter to do mine (rather than a grinder).

Fastguy,
There were gaskets, but they are stock and not ported to the larger runners and ported plenum. The difference between stock and ported is significant when you multiply by 8.
I want to be sure to utilize the all available air. I did some additional porting to the intake and lower runner to match the gaskets i got from LPE. The only problem, I ordered the wrong set, I did not get an upper plenum gasket.
I am definately having fun with this setup and it is not on the car yet.

Make them out of good thick, stiff gasket paper. Went through that porting the stockies BS a bunch of times. They are good gaskets with wire mesh reinforcements, but that's what makes it a royal PITA.

The TPI gaskets suck. I had one go bad just a week after the instal. You should make your own.
