Who makes the best f/filter?
Its so simple but so important at the same time.I picked up a fram fuel filter on sale for 11 bucks, but it didnt seem such a good deal when I saw made in China on the side of it.I dont have any driveability problems just preventative maintenance.Does anyone run a b/g or holley or something with reusable or replacement cartridges?I have an LT4 that Im doing head and cam work on.Thanks Junior

We run a fram on our C3.... its old, leaks from time to time. On the C4 I just run an AC Delco from the dealer. I purchased two prior to that from autozone; both were damaged and starved the engine for fuel. Just my experience,... I would say go for a dealer filter, or you could give one of the aftermarkets a try.

I DO NOT buy Chinese anything. All they sell is cheap crap. They're killing Americans with their non existent safety and testing procedures and all they're interested in is money. I'd rather spend a little more than feed China's economy.

I just ordered a Wix online a couple days ago for my car along with bunch of other parts. I went with the Wix since they seem to have a lot of filter material in their oil filters and its the brand I have always used. Of course if you ask 10 different people you will get 10 different answers. Does it really matter what filter you use? Probably not.

I posted this in Off Topic a while back and nobody could answer.
Name 10 100% totally American made and produced products. I'll bet nobody can, I know I can't.
We need to stop all imports of everything and get our country back in gear.

Get the proper AC Delco filter for your car. But the chances are it will say somewhere on the box or the filter that it is made off-shore. China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea or wherever.
AC Delco oil filters used to be marked Made in USA but I have seen them marked Made in Mexico, Made in Korea, and Made in China.
Are they the same quality? They "should" be if they are made to Delco specs for material and dimensions. ARe they really? Hard to say unless you cut one open and compare it to a known Made in USA filter.
I think that goods marked Made in China are going to be pretty common now. Businesses have moved work overseas where labor is so cheap that under a buck an hour is common. That's more profit for the corporations by moving the work off-shore and if they reduce the quality of the product by using inferior or less materials then replacement of parts will be more frequent and more profit is made by increased sales.

I've always used Fram oil filters on my vette. Are they not U.S. made? For what its worth, I used a Purolator filter on my Focus thats for synthetic oils. Most expensive 4 cyl oil change ever, $26.

I read an article a couple of years ago on oil filters. A test was made using many "Off the shelf" Filters purchased from different auto parts stores. They were cut open and the internals examined. since reading that article, I use nothing but NAPA Gold filters (Oil, Air and Fuel). A.C. Delco filters also rated well however, I quit using them when they stopped selling through the regular auto parts houses. Now I can only get them from a dealer for more money than they are worth. NAPA filters are WIX filters in NAPA boxes and WIX/NAPA were rated among the best filters. Standard FRAM filters were the worst of the bunch.
