Default 17" x 11" ?

hey guys.... just wondering...
i know that in order to put 11 inch wide rims on the zr-1 they had to make the side fenders wider and also the back bumber but supposedly the grand sport comes with these same rims. How is it possible to put 11 inch wide rims on a vett without a widened rear body like the zr1? :nonod:

The offset and backspacing on the GS rims are different than the ZR1 rims. :)

The GS and ZR1 offsets are different.

I have the 17x11 GS offset rims and they fit perfectly.

How's it going, I noticed you're from Gainesville. You should come out to Best Buy on thursday nights at about 9 pm. There is a Muscle car club that meets out there, with everything from Nova's to stangs to camaros and so on.

The Grand Sport also came with add-on fender flares.

TravisD
is there someplace i can order these fender flares to put on another vett so any offset 17 x 11 will fit on it?

BAdAzZV8
I have been out there a couple times but unfortunatly i dont get off work untill about 10-1030 so i can everyonce in a while catch the very last bit of it then i have to go over to the ricer show one parking lot over.
its not a muscle show and most of the stuff is pretty cheesy but since its the only show i ever get to on thursday nights its not half bad
do you own a vett yet your self BAdAzZV8? or are you just a fan like me?

Well I go to the import meet too, right after the muscle car guys go cruising. I cruise with the domestic guys, and then leave and go to the import show to see some of my freinds.

What kind of car do you drive? I have the torch red '94 vette coupe, the one that was revving and set off the car alarm(I just got my exhaust done, and was showing my freind). If you were there this week I came with a red '95 firehawk, and a red '92 mustang gt. I come out to the import show every thursday, I used to have a green cadillac eldorado, you may have seen me drive that out there.

Anyway, if you see me out at either of the meets this thursday, come over and say hi, I'll be in my red vette.

BAdAzZV8, you say you have a 94 red coupe? i think i was talking to you this thursday at the import meeting. You had the targa top out and if it was indeed you i was asking about your muffler eliminators. right now i drive a piece of crap 96 red rustang convertible but i ususally ride to the show in my friends 2002 beamer.

1996man, Many owners have upgraded to the 11" rear rims (AFS is a popular aftermarket choice http://www.afswheels.com ) with the GS offset which fits 88-96 I think. The 11"/315 tires stick out about 1/2" - 3/4" and look PHAT (good). The GS fender flares can be purchased from most GM parts sellers or you can occasionally find someone selling them on ebay or here, ~ $165, and have to be painted to match and either screwed on or double sided taped. If you want the stock "AMold" wheel that GM used, I think the only option is the black GS 11" wheel. The collector edition (silver painted) wheels are 9 1/2".

Hi Gainesville guys.....

I'm really kind of new to the corvette world. I have not been to any group gatherings yet. I have been working on getting the car in shape. Nothing like showing up to a group event driving a bucket of bolts. I hope to go to the Tampa gathering on the 22nd. Maybe I will venture up to G'ville some day. It's been years since I was there.

That's not what he said. The CE's came with 9.5" rears, but were a 5-spoke style like the GS, and were also silver.

Also I believe that GS 'verts has 9.5 rears and no flares since the 11" combo would not fit in the car if you ever had to change a tire.

Yeah I had my top off and was showing off my new eilminators, I remember talking to you that night. I was kind of talking to like 5 people at the same time though, haha. You should notice that I already put in my sig what I told you I ordered even though I haven't gotten it yet. I guess I'm just anxious. I'll probably be there next week too, so I'll probably see you there.

And ocalaguy, our muscle car club is having a track day feb 2nd, if you would like to make it down here for that. You can post on our messageboard to find out more of what's going on, and you could even cruise down here with the Ocala people.
