Default What is the front frame rail width of the C4?

I'm looking fir the measurement across the top of the frame rails where the suspension attaches to the frame from the outside of each frame rail. Also, I need the measurement from the bottom a arm to the top of the a arm from the centers of the bushings. These do not have to be exact (as in machine shop perferct) a tape measure will get close enough. Thanks,
Cody

The C4 cross member mounts inside the frame rails with the top arm going over the frame rail to it's mount on the crossmember. The top shock mounts are on the frame , everything else mounts to the removable X member
When it stops raining can get some measurements from my bare chassis outside.

That would be great! Thanks... It sounds like I don't need much more than the stock x- member to get what I need. I want everything to be right... Does the rac fully mount to the x member without the need of extra frame bracing? It sounds like if my frame existing frame rales are the correct width, I can drill and bolt it on....... but that would be too easy right?

I'll check back on Monday, hey, thanks for everything. I know I may need to cut the C4 frame rails so that I can get the whole assy. with the X member connected. Can you think of anything else? I'm going to look at my Mustang this weekend and make some measurements and take some pictures. Do you have pictures of the Vette frame section I will need? Thanks and Happy Resurction Day!

Inside frame rails where X member mounts is approx 28 1/2" .Frame rail at this point 3 1/4" wide.
A arm inner mounts 10" c/c at rear ;14" c/c at front.

The whole front cross member drops out in one piece. The only parts mounted to the frame are the swaybar mounts and the top shock mounts.
BUT because the X member mounts on the inside of the frame you have to remove the top arm inner mounts to drop X member out.
PM me your email ; have future race car stripped to bare chassis outside.Much easier to see set out without engine in place.

EldoVetteStang, rodj - have you already established elsewhere that you
are both talking about the same version of the C4 front suspension?

When Corvette redesigned the front for Zero-Scrub Radius in '88, this
changed several aspects of the suspension. If one of you is discussing
a pre-88 and the other an 88+, then there might some inconsistencies.

rodj, I will PM my email to you, thanks. I have not bought any parts yet. Did the frame change in the 88 re-design? Or was it just the suspension?
