I got a set of Mickey Thompson drag Radials from summit racing. I figured with the new Vigilante 2600 stall converter I'm gonna need more traction. Summit has free shipping right now so I guess it was a good deal. $409.00 out the door. I'm wondering what kind of ET improvement I will see. Anyone want to guess? I predict a 1/2 sec. off the 1/4. Low 13s would be good. Anyone wanna guess how long my dana 36 will last? I'm leaving it in until ??
.5 to .8 off your ET. Your 60' time should be 1.8 minimum. Those tires could be tough to break loose on a stock L-98. Those are the stickiest street legal tire on the market. My d36 has held up to 1.7 60' times spinning 365rwhp and 350rwtq on Nitto drg 315s at 20psi and a 5 sec heat cycle. Ive always broken the tires loose though. I recommend you dont do a heat cycle with those tires. The 36 will snap or at least a half shaft. You do realize the cost of a D44 upgrade? Id like to know how you did at the track.

That's what I like to hear. I plan on keeping the dana 36 until I need something stronger. My 315 Sumitomo street tires would not give much traction even at 16 lbs. My best 60' was 2.0. That's with a stock converter. I'll have the Vigilante 2600 and the Mts next time. I'm almost finished with the new Trick Flow injectors. Then I'll need a dyno tune. I'll post my times next time I get to the track. I read that the MTs don't need a burn out.
oh you said that bad s word....sssssumitomo, frik i hate those tires. i have some on the back of my car now. worst choice i have ever made on a tire. the 555r is going on soon for a daily driver tire. i'm kind of curious about the MT though, aren't those like the top dog traction wise for a DOT tire? wonder how many miles they would go or if you could daily driver those things very long.

I've had 1.8 and 1.9 60's with my 315 Sumitomos. I had to bring the tire pressure down to about 16 lbs. and hit about 90% throttle. I also had a 2800 TCI converter in at the time. A vigilante 2800 with a built trans is going in it tomorrow. I'm curious to see how long your Dana 36 will hold up. Keep us informed.

How'd you get your Vigilante so quick? I'm still waiting for mine. I only race the 1/4 about 3 times a year so It may last.

I couldn't use WOT on the launch with the Sumis. I tried that and it would sit there and spin. I figure with the new setup I should get a much better launch and a lower ET.

I just received it today. Precision Industries is located in Tenessee and I am in Louisiana. Anything shipped from there usually gets here in a day or two. The same with Comp Cams in Tenn.
