Transgo Install after 250 miles, No 4th Gear
Installed the Transgo about 250 miles back. Everything was in order after the install, all shifts seemed to be firm and quick.. Didnt jump all over it either as I had the Tranny rebuilt at the same time and wanted to break everything in. All was well, but then just yesterday eve noticed that it just stopped shifting into overdrive.
I read a post from Cruz 86 indicating that the 3-4 shift valve spring supplied in the kit is too firm, and that he had received a recommendation from their Tech Support to go back to the OEM spring...
Has anyone else experienced this problem with the Transgo shift kit after installation (worked for a bit, then puttered out)??? If so, how did you resolve?

Did you install the kit yourself or did a Tranny shop do it ?
The "no 4th gear" seems to come up alot, but usually happens right away.

I had no 4th gear immediately after installing the kit. Major pain in the ****.

Boy, I feel like a big deal to be reading along and see my name pop up. I feel your pain Stratocaster. After the kit install I lost 4th gear except sometimes it might lazily slip into it after shifter was in OD for awhile. Spoke with the tech guys at trans go (nice guys but hard to get through-keep trying). They told me that sometimes on the vettes the 3-4 shift valve spring provided in the kit is too heavy. I took down the pan and valve body again (I wish they put drain plugs on these things) and put the original spring back in. After that everything was fine. The springs were quite different from one another. Hope this helps you out. Any other questions let me know. CRUZ 86

Mine did that also, ended up putting another valve body.
