What do you hate most about your C-4.

After spending the last few years keeping an "81 porsche 928 alive, I have few if any gripes about the vette. I think I almost feinted the first time I went to the local parts shop and they had what i needed IN STOCK. Parts are Sooo easy to find, and cheap to boot. I loved that 928 but the vette has more guts (especially at low rpm) and aftermarket upgrade parts are everywhere (to be expected... they made more vettes in '85 than the total # of 928's ever imported)

I hate that C-4 owners get all the $hit we do, but that it's not reflected in replacement parts prices!!!! Sheesh somebody tell GM that C-4's are such pieces of $hit, and they should give us the parts!!!!

it's not so much c4s are POS's as it is they need to be gone through at the age they happen to be at. i own a c4 that is just dialed. easy to toss around, does what i tell it to and is faster than a stock ls2 c6. the entire car has been gone through.

I hate the fact that even though 90 % of all C4's aren't worth squat, mine included........................there are still all of the "Corvette Snobs" out there with that stuck up, know it all attitude. I get on this forum just about every night just to read the C4 Tech/Perf section and I very rarely post. I just sit back in my chair and shake my head at some of the people on here who think their **** doesn't stink, yet I'd be willing to wager that most of them wouldn't have the ***** to talk to anyone in person like they respond to them on here. Fortunately for me, I am mechanically inclined and have always done all of my own wrenching, but the way some of you "experts" beat up on the poor guys just looking for a little help kills me. Grow up or go buy a Porsche.

what are you smoking? a toyota vvti is one of the more reliable motors on the road. also very easy to boost. my only gripe is lotus didn't use the honda k20a instead. it's a sub 2000lb car that is beyond easy to work on, everything is right infront of you. as far as resale, look on ebay at the retail of a 2005 elise and what they sell for. do the same with a 2005 c6, which percentage drop is greatest?
As to prices, you can still find '07 and even '06 Elises new from dealers, so I really doubt the resale will be very good (eBay is hardly the way to get a pulse on resale).
But hey dude, if you think they are reliable and will hold their value, go get one. All I suggested you do is take a look at Lotus's history in regards to that. They've made more cars than just the Elise.

Front end fit (hood and bumper). Drives me nuts when I look at the car for a long period of time. Looks right from one angle, and looks like chit from another.

Only thing I really dislike about my 92 is that every once in a while when I'm sitting at a stoplight and the light turns green, the car beside me gets to the other side first. It's pretty rare, but mildly disappointing when it does happen. I'm working on solving that problem though.

Biggest complaint is the 1984-90 replacement of the rear lights, 2 minute job on any other car is 30 minutes and doctor bill! That it took GM until 91 to change this was just plain CHEAP!

Ever remove the damned Bose CDM tuner module under the front passenger seat? I swear, you have to be a midget contortionist to get at that ****!

I love a lot about the C4 L98 is bulletproof (knock on wood) probably most annoying is girlfreind when I have to buy stuff for the car and the $ spent on it. The lack of value in our cars versus what we got in them! bottoming out and ruining front spoiler, need more power most mini vans have more HP now adays! Cops always think ur speeding going 5mph over... other then that life is good!

things about my c4 that **** me off...
brand new weather stripping, still leaking on the lap
flimsy door panels
hit a bump, and the whole car rattles
spark plugs installation
bump steer
the cost off parts, I have notices parts for other cars are half as much.
gas mileage is around 9 or 10, hey who cares.
These things may **** me off but I love my car. I love taking on and off ramps. I wouldnt trade it for anything. Driving her on a sunny day, top off the car, with not a care in the world is priceless. I look past all the things that **** me off and drive it for what it is. Its a great corvette.
Generally speaking, with these cars, the enjoyment and love out weighs the low points.

I really hate how all the other cars on the road just can't keep up!
Same as above, the rain. It rains in FL all summer, so the car pretty much sits in the garage. I do drive my car, but avoid all the rain (as best I can)

#2 Plug, Left Valve cover
Removing the #2 plug is ridiculous. But the left valve cover is equally absurd. The A/C bracket and compressor had to be shifted forward. What a hassle.
