Default cold start injector issues / after slp runner install

This has been a long week. I replaced my runners with SLP's version and have yet to get my car where it will idle. Best I can figure it has a bit of a vaccum leak. This is not good since I am headed to the Corvette Homecoming in BG this weekend as a participant in the drive and shine.

First I re torqued all the bolts to the specified 19 lbs and managed to get enough of an idle where it would stumble to a stop after about half a minute or so.

So my next assumption was that the cold start injector was not seating properly since the housing did get slightly bent during the removal/install process of the new runners.

This is the heart of my issue. No one seems to know what I am talking about when I call to purchase a new one. I have been calling it the ninth injector or cold start injector. I assume some one here knows what I am speaking of and I would greatly appreciate being pointed in the right direction of locating a new one. I would like to get the housing and injector assembly if possible.

I could be wrong about this being the leak so if anyone has put on the SLP runners and believes I possibly am missing something else please let me know.

thanks, Jeremy

When I tried SLP runners many years ago,the cold start would not seat all the way. They didnt remove enough material to allow the CS to pop in there and seal the O ring.Look at the CS valve, then look at the SLP runner CS area.

Look at the stock runners, the entire CS area is flat around the CS hole, but the SLP is not.The stock runners, the CS will seat perfect into the hole. The SLP,the CS will bend and not seat all the way, causing a bad vaccum leak there.

Btw,after I grinded the SLP area to fit the CS the car, felt sluggish with the SLP runners.I went back to stock and it had more power off the line and through the rpm range.

Sorry to say it,but those runners are junk comapred to stock.Ive used them both and loved the stock much better.

The CS bracket/plug is the same shape and size as the CS itself.

I have considered eliminating it but was concerned that it would be more difficult to start. I want it to hit immediately.

It is only a summer vehicle so if I thought it would fire right up then I would be more apt to eliminate it.
