"The front Hi-Performance Springs are specifically designed to for autocrossing and/or improving track time. Increasing the spring rate on the front spring dramatically reduces nose dive under hard braking and improves the handling by controlling weight transfer. Ride qualities are not compromised with the increased rate.
The rear springs are disigned for drag racing, autocross racing or track time use. Increasing the rear spring rate allows you to control excessive weight transfer while cornering and reduces the squatting coming out of turns or launching when drag racing. "
I'd be curious how much they drop (or don't) your lap times. I've put off new springs but would like some one day. They are much more expensive then sway bars which I am thinking is my next mod.
I ran Hyperco springs on my 95 Trans-Am I used as a daily driver/autocross car and they worked great. Also lowered the car about 1.25". Wonder if these lower the ride height also, or keep it stock??
Leaf springs are always so expensive ... for the cost of nice shocks and new springs, you can get one of the nice drop-in coilover conversions! Ack!
Since you can pick up a set of the Hyperco leaf springs from Van Steel for just over $600 (assuming 10% CF discount), and then put on a set of QA1's for around $550, it seemed to me to be a cost effective alternative to converting to Penske or similar coilover setups.
Plus it doesn't present the coilover conversion issues I've read about on this forum.

According to Van Steel's web site, the "track" ones do just that.

The suspension as system must matched and balanced to to grip levels and alignments for optimal performance. I don't run street tires anymore, except when Im feeling cheap but there is a huge difference tire width/compounds compared to grip levels...
I have their Z51 front spring (was able to get an OEM '90 Z51 rear). The spring is every bit as good as advertised and maybe better. Fantastic quality, perfect fit.
I use my car for HPDEs and based on in-car video analysis, it's clear my lap times improved (I did the springs and a 30mm front sway bar at the same time, nothing else).
I spoke with their sales rep. They basically are the the same rate as the Z-51 springs from 1990. (Front and rear) I have a used set I am selling also. Not stiff enough for me so I went to VBP and spoke with Gary . Good deal.
Yes, though a better spring would help with braking nose dive too. I usually pick up used street tires to destroy at the track. There are KDW on there now.
