I'd remove the D36 and sell it and put the money towards a D44. This way, you do it once and lessen your chances of having to do it later when it is inconvenient.

The guys that wrecked a dana 36, was the dana 36 rear rebuildable? With the pumpkin casing being aluminum I'm guessing that the dana 36 casing was trash when you break a ring/pinion.

I am putting about 550 rear wheel horsepower to the ground. I got a beefy Dana with the 7/16" rear gear bolts and my bearing caps are steel. The yokes (all 5) are cold stabilized and I am using carbon fiber drive and half shafts. I hear some guys with this setup are running with 900-1000 horsepower and doing drag strip launches and have not had any problems over the years. I hope that works for my autocrossing.

I didnt trust my D36 with 408rwhp. I now have more than that so I swapped to an IRS 12bolt

Default Bump

Bumping this for a question. Anyone know what happened to Ski_dwn_it's solid axle conversion? Did a company buy it off him and start selling it? I can't seem to find it anywhere

Try Carbon Fiber Half & Drive Shafts and have your stub axles "Cold Stabilized" You'll be breaking fewer parts.
