Install New Cats
I'll be ordering a pair of Random Technology catalytic converters for my brother's 1987 Coupe. He's got two straight pipes going from the exhaust manifolds to the two Flowmaster mufflers. How hard would it to cut through the pipes to install the cats? Better yet, would a muffler shop be able to do this without screwing up? Thanks guys.

I would hope so... they might get funny about a non-factory cat, tho... they used to years ago.
one shop claimed they could only install a factory authorized replacement... but something in my brain tells me the feds changed the law that said, paraphrasing, "as long as the numbers don't fail, and you don't remove the cat, you are ok.". or something like that.

I wonder if they might get to hot and toast something under there. Where at in the exhaust could you mount them???
