Trying to repair fuel line on 94 - Help
I posted a note about a crushed fuel line on my 94 awhile ago. I decided to repair the crushed area with a 90 degree union. I bled off the fuel pressure as per the manuals instructions (remove cap, remove pump fuse, run motor). I then began to cut the line by the right wheel well and it began to squirt. No biggie I think, after a few seconds it will die off so I left it for a few mins before cutting it all the way.
Wellllllll, it's still going strong, about a gallon or more has leaked out! It doesn't want to stop and I'm afraid the entire tank is going to be emptied. This is not what I expected :(
Is there a way to stop fuel from coming out of the return line so I can fix this thing or do I have to drain the entire tank? I didn't think that the return line would act like this and thought it would be a quick deal. Help!!!!!!!!

I vote to disconnect the rubber hoses at the tank in the back.Remove the gas door lid assmbly and push them off the steel lines at the sender. You can also buy a package of large rubber vaccum caps to push over the lines back there to keep it from leaking out back there as well, and to keep vapors from floating around in the air.
Keep us posted how the repair turns out.

Thanks for all the tips, but they came after the tank was dry ;)
I did think of putting the cap back, which I did, but it was no help.
I thought of forcing air in the line, but I didn't have any :(
I didn't think about taking the lines off at the fill area though and wasn't aware that it was possible. I'll have to remember that next time I decide to take the lines apart.
The repair went well, after the tank was dry. I used a mini line cutter, and a 90 degree union that I found at Lowes. All the auto part stores in the area had the straight lines but no bends. I used some sealer on the threads, filled it back up and took it out for some crusing yesterday.
It runs a tad bit better but still has some slight missing that bugs me so it's back to the drawing board.
Thanks to all for your input! :seeya
