Default Dana 36 C-Beam for Dana 44 Help

Is it possible to use a Dana 36 C-beam when you swap in a Dana 44?

I am trying to finish up my stall converter and Dana 44 swap. I'm attempting to do it with my C-beam from the 36.

I want to hear any input before I start modifying it. (I know I should just buy one for a 44, but I'm soooooo cheap)

Any pics would be great.

You can but I am wondering whether it will be weakened if you drill more holes.

One of the holes I need to drill will overlap one of existing holes in the beam. I'm wondering if having an elongated slot will mess things up? (It would only be one of the holes, so it may be alright)

DOH!!! Just reread post #2. That makes sense. I was looking to modify the carrier end. Doing the tranny end does seem to be more logical.

It goes to show you... Asking questions does help.

Thanks! That's exactly what I was hoping someone would come up with.
