I'm a long time C3 owner/operator and know absolutely nothing post-C4.
Friend has a 1986 ragtop that is completely electrically dead.Nothing whatsoever..no lights,..nothing.
Is there a main fuse or fuselink anywhere to start with?
Any guidance from you C4 mates appreciated.
PM's best for me...but I'll keep an eye on the thread.
Thx
Jim
Far as I know,a new battery installed....
I'll have to ask further.just wondered if and where the fuseable link may be..or main fuse..or anything post C3 that this car may have??
Thx
Open the passenger side door and on the side of the dash is a fuse box/cover door. Its kind of small.Theres a small plastic panel that has a small **** that turns and opens the fuse box cover.
Start there to check for blown fuses.
Not sure about fusible links.Do find out more, was the car fire, flood damage, etc etc.The engine has a bunch of grounds that are attached at the trans bellhousing at the very top as well.Be sure they are there and not broke off.
there's a junction block behind the battery for positive cables, a few fusible links there. Make sure the negative battery grounds to the driver side of the engine block. Also check that the negative grounds to the chassis to the right of the battery (also at the same point there should be a braided ground connecting the engine ground to the chassis ground).
There's a connector on one of the small positive wires from the battery, make sure it's not disconnected.
