Antenna Problem on 89 coupe
This morning the antenna stopped about 1/3 up. Still got a radio signal, but the reception was pretty awful. When I turned off the radio, the partially up antenna would not go down. I tried to push on it (a little, may 5 pounds of pressure), but it wouldn't budge.
Any ideas on what the problem is?
How difficult and expensive is it to fix?

It sounds like the ribbon on the antenna broke. Most vendors have new ribbons and the fix is fairly simple. I worry though that you can't push the antenna down. If the motor is jammed you can try to rebuild it or buy a new one.

Can you hear the motor working when you turn the radio on and off? If yes, it's a $17 and 30 minute fix to replace the mast and ribbon.
