So my car did not come with a PKE fob when I bought it. I ordered one, brand spankin' new. Right now it is no more than two months old.
Recently (more and more frequently) it will stop working for no reason. I pull the battery and put it back in and bingo! It works perfectly again...What is causing it to stop working and why does reinstalling the battery (temporarily) fix it?
If you haven't already..might try replacing the battery. Even though the fob is pretty new you don't know how long it sat on a shelf. .... battery life is not a strong point. I really like my PKE feature...but my battery life is usually in the 6-9 month range on both fobs. Frankly I thought these things did transmitt all the time, but reading the above post..guess not. Regardless battery life is short when compared to other remotes/vehicles I own. Just a thought... also since this is my DD one or the other fob is in my pocket at work or where ever so they do get a lot of "movement"
