(Stock crank, rods, and block)
Well this is good too know....maybe I was using too much Slick 50 back in 1989. I do prefer at least a 4 bolt though for support. But it is good to see that you have got trouble free miles with performance upgrades and have taken your car to the track. Have you ever got an oil analysis done...or does your motor make any noise? Just before my bearings went I was getting a knock...rod rattle and I knew it was bad.

Calderone,

Check eBay. Another SR has popped up if you're still leaning that way.

When you pull your stock TPI, make sure you hold onto the fuel rail. Most of the SRs on eBay were for F-Body cars. The fuel lines are not routed the same as Vettes. If you currently have a cold start injector, you'll need to cap off the fitting on the rear of the drivers side fuel rail. The SR doesn't use the 9th injector.

The SR runners and intake manifold will not have a provision for the 9th. So there's nothing to cap or plug. Just the fuel rail. If you get an SR that includes the fuel rail, it will probably have the fuel rail cap you need. Just swap it to yours.
