I have a Carter 4BBL 750cfm in my 72 pontiac 400, compared to the EFI in My 86 vette I think the Throttle response is allot better with the Carter 4BBL, I never have to tune it, but it doesnt start as good when hot or cold.
EFI is allot better when tuned right.
But carbs are not as bad as people think, they have come along way and with my carb in my pontiac i dont have to wait for the computer to see WOT, i dont have the TPS to worry about or any electrical pulses, when I hit the gas its all mechanical, and that is sometimes better than a improperly tuned EFI System.
