Default 1987, Adj. fuel press, IAC, TBS

Question.
If i put a Adjustible fuel pressure regulator on the car and if it is turned too low(is that even possible) will that affect my IAC therefore affecting my TBS?

In other words..... If i loosen the bolt on top of the pressure reg. will it go below the factory setting?

Reason why i ask? I just set the IAC and the TBS on my car but i had a hell of a time reaching 400RPM. I have a Holly TB and i had to take the spring off of the idle adjustment to give it more turns in.

But now it is slow to start.

If you have an adjustable reg, you MUST set it with a pressure gauge. Low pressure is surely possible and will surely kill performance.

Re-reading your question, did you just install the reg ??
If your trying to adjust min idle, you will have a hard time getting to 400, before it stalls. Aim a little higher.

Yes i installed it. Because of the oversized TB i thought i would try to throw more fuel in.
But when i adjusted my IAC i loosened it off hoping it would go to factory setting 35 psi?
I never checked it then i adjusted the IAC and TPS.
Me thinks i started bad.

You need to disconnect the hose to the AFPR and plug it. Then attach a pressure gauge to the fuel rail and set the pressure to 36-39 pounds. A larger TB will not change your fuel used at idle. The fuel is adjusted by the oxygen sensor readings sent to the computer.

Done,(set fuel pressure was 46 now 38)
Do you think the IAC and TPS will have to be reset?
