Default Horn Blows Unexpectantly and sometimes stuck

I have another problem with a 94 corvette recently purchased. While going through inspection it was identified the horn was unplugged. When plugged in the horn blows constantly. I can manually grip the center steering wheel horn cover to cause the horn contact to separted allowing the horn to stop. Any advise on how to fix this? I'm real concern about removing anything to cause a problem with air bags. Is this a do it your self job? If so, any information on how to do it is greatly appreciated.

Thanks again!!!

I had a very similar problem on my 95. The horn started going off full blast at 10:30 at night! The 2 switches inside the steering wheel had dried out/rotted and collapsed onto themselves, making the electrical connection.
If your 94 is the same as the 95, you'll need to pull the airbag fuse, disconnect the yellow airbag wire underneath the dash and then you can pull the airbag from the steering wheel by undoing the screws behind the wheel. Now you'll see the 2 horn contacts set into the wheel. Just simple clear, plastic, spring loaded switches. Pretty straight forward job to pluck them out and put the new ones in.

The horn assembly is plastic and breaks up. I had to replace mine a while back. Here are a couple pictures of what I had.

This is how it came out.

Completed installation

than that, to be safe follow the instructions in the FSM, one thing missed in the above post is to pull the air bag fuse AND the negative battery terminal AND wait at LEAST 20 minutes, longer is better; there is a stored charge somewhere in the air bag line that has to dissipate before it is safe to remove. After that just handle with care.
