Default Fuel Pressure Guage reading

Hey guys,

I 'm sort of new at this so help me out.

I went to check the fuel pressure at idle on my 383.
I was surprised when I checked with the engine running at idle, that my fuel pressure guage was pretty eratic reading around 45psi.

Is the erratic reading normal or do you think I have a bum guage or a bum fuel regulator or some other issue?

I was expecting the needle to be more stable pointing at 45 or 47 PSI and not shaking from 40 to 50 psi.

it is not glycerin filled.

It is a $50 dollar guage from Actron.
